Summary

Artful Architecture combines elements such as drawing and mathematics to help students visualize and create their own dream buildings. Through hands-on and engaging activities, this class will go through the entire planning and designing process: site plan, floor plan, section, and elevation. There will be a focus on different architectural styles and techniques, including local and regional styles. At the end of the course, the designs will be brought to life for all to explore during Family Visiting Day on the last day of the program. If you like looking at tall skyscrapers or cool-looking buildings in your neighborhood, this class is for you!

Student profile

This course is designed as a challenging enrichment opportunity for students finishing grades 2–4 in the spring. Students have an opportunity to develop their collaborative skills by partnering with other students for their final design project, or they may choose to work independently.
