Summary

Do you have a fascination with computer games and want to gain a deeper understanding of how they are created? In this course, students explore all the elements that go into the games they play. Students will learn the ins and outs from hardware to software, looking at the evolution of the computer science world over the past several decades. They will jump into design by creating several types of games using block coding while learning the syntax of coding languages. Forget summer Spanish or French courses, learn to speak computer! This course will provide a foundation in basic programming skills as well as introductory design elements so you can create the game you choose! Students will gain skills in the 21st-century world while also developing creative problem-solving, exploring their art and aesthetics, practicing writing and storytelling, and working in collaboration. No prior coding knowledge is required to learn how to make the games of your dreams.

Student profile

This course is a focused exposure experience in the fields of programming and graphic design. Students will be engaged in many hands-on project-based activities. Students will be utilizing technology on a frequent basis during this course.

Tuition deadlines
