Summary

This course is for students seeking to develop and apply the knowledge and skills associated with effective, and socially responsible, leadership. Using an interdisciplinary approach, this course is designed to provide a basic introduction to leadership by focusing on what it means to be a good leader. This course emphasis is the practice of leadership. The course will examine topics such as: understanding leadership; recognizing leadership traits; engaging people’s strengths; understanding philosophy and styles; attending to tasks and relationships; developing leadership skills; creating a vision; establishing a constructive climate; listening to group members; handling conflict; addressing ethics in leadership and overcoming obstacles.

Student profile

This course is a focused exposure experience in the field of leadership and will provide students the opportunity to build practical social and emotional learning skills.

Tuition deadlines

The first half of tuition is due by May 15, 2023. The second half of tuition is due by June 1, 2023.
