Summary
Dive into the U.S. Constitution, exploring the role and duties of the Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branches. Compare the government of the United States with others around the world. How did the Founding Fathers ensure fair and equal representation? How do history, geography, anthropology and economics influence government? Consider all of this and more, as we use past elections as a case study to examine and better understand the American Democracy.
Student profile
This is a discussion-based course. Students should expect to engage in daily reading assignments to help prepare for robust in-class discussions. All ALP students are advised to bring a personal laptop or tablet for use in class and during evening sessions.
