Summary

Have you ever wondered why a cool, wet nose is the sign of a healthy dog, but is also the sign of an ill human? Even though people look quite different on the outside from many animals, have you thought about what similarities and differences we might share on the inside? Curious, young animal lovers will find this course the perfect introduction to the very basics of the veterinary profession with an emphasis on animal anatomy, particularly mammals. What does a veterinarian do, and why is their job important? How do veterinarians diagnose and treat illnesses in animals? In this course, students will explore the role of veterinarians, learn about animal anatomy and physiology, and understand how animals' bodies function and how diseases are treated. Through engaging activities, hands on labs, projects, and discussions, students will develop an appreciation for the care and treatment of all animals, from household pets to farm animals and even wildlife. Students will gain on understanding of anatomy and common animal ailments. All animal lovers welcome to this course.
