Program
Summary
Do you love learning about people and places from the past? In this course, we will transform our class into a living history museum! You'll choose a fascinating figure from history to research and represent in our museum. We will discuss how historians consider source selection, bias and changing social norms, and values when learning about the past. Then, you'll get to create a speech in the voice of your person and activate your acting skills to "become" your figure in our museum. Of course, you'll also want to layer your exhibit with costumes, props, and a background to make it extra engaging for your visitors. Families and guests will join us on the last day of camp for a tour of the museum, interacting with the "characters" and interviewing them about their historical adventures!
