Badger Precollege welcomes international students ages 15–18 from around the world to participate in our academic and arts-based precollege programs. We work to create a welcoming environment for you to join us online or on our beautiful campus in Madison, Wisconsin. Not only will you learn from professionals across the university and experience our world-class academics, but you’ll also meet new friends and join a welcoming community of peers.
By participating in a Badger Precollege program, you will:
Complete valuable academic or arts-based coursework that will help to prepare you for the rigor of an U.S. university experience
Develop critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity skills through individual and group projects
Gain independence, confidence and a new perspective on the world around you
Form a better understanding of U.S. culture and the higher education system
Join a community of mentors, instructors and new friends
Improve your English language speaking and writing skills

Programs available to international students
Accelerated Learning Program (ALP)
In person | June 28–July 17, 2026
The Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) engages talented students from across Wisconsin, the nation and the world in an intense, three-week residential summer camp designed to push you to the next academic level in a welcoming learning environment. You’ll enroll in a single course of your choice for an in-depth learning experience. Activities outside of class are thoughtfully planned and coordinated by residential staff to foster additional social and emotional connections between students.
Badger Summer Scholars
In person | July 19–31, 2026
Badger Summer Scholars offers a transformative residential learning opportunity across several academic areas of interest. You should be ready to take the next step in your academic journey and to engage in a rewarding college program with peers from all over the country and the world. Participate in one academic track focus during the day, then become familiar with the college application process and college life through the Jump Forward workshop series.
Social Impact Leadership
Online
The Social Impact Leadershipprogram helps students develop as changemaking leaders alongside peers from across the U.S. and around the globe. Students learn, discuss, and take action on their ideas while receiving expert guidance from professionals and experienced youth as they design and implement a social impact project in their community.
Wisconsin International Precollege Academy
In person | June 27–July 17, 2026
The Wisconsin International Precollege Academy program is an opportunity for international students to participate in experiential learning with other peers from all over the world. You will experience college life as a student on UW–Madison’s campus and participate in interactive workshops and presentations in many different areas. During your time here, you will also sample the culture, traditions and values of the U.S. Midwest.
*Previously known as EducationUSA Academy. The 2026 program will be included as a track in the 2026 ALP program.
Summer Music Clinic Senior
In-person | June 28–July 4, 2026
Summer Music Clinic provides students an opportunity to play, sing, create and learn about music at all experience levels. Choose from different paths, courses and electives to create a varied arts-based experience. Throughout the program, you will grow as a musician and as an individual through the coursework and will meet a community of like-minded peers with multiple and diverse artistic voices.
