Summary
Do you dream of becoming a veterinarian or working with animals one day? This course is the perfect introduction to caring for both small companion animals and larger farm species. From dogs and cats to horses, cows, and goats, students will explore the world of animal health and behavior through the lens of the veterinary profession. Through hands-on labs, dissections, and interactive projects, students will learn the basics of animal anatomy, physiology, and wellness. They’ll practice key veterinary skills such as identifying vital signs, understanding nutrition, and learning how to recognize and prevent common illnesses. Students will also discover how veterinarians help keep animals healthy—from pets at home to livestock that support communities around the world. By the end of the week, students will have a strong foundation in animal care and a deeper appreciation for the many ways people and animals depend on each other every day. All aspiring animal caretakers and future veterinarians welcome!
