Summary

Do you love learning about people and places from the past? Our “Walk Through History” class will transport students into a living history museum! Students will select a figure from history to research and represent in a living history museum. Students will conduct thorough research of their subject, including considering bias in historical sources and understanding how societal norms and values have evolved over time. Students will write and edit a speech in the “voice” of their figure. They will also design a costume, props, and background exhibit for a living history museum that families may visit on the last day of class. Students will stay in character that day, giving their speeches and answering questions as their historical figures. Let your creativity soar by adding as many props and scenery as you’d like!
