Summary

Does the prospect of solving complex problems seem fascinating to you? Are you drawn to mysteries and investigation-themed movies and books? In this course, you'll continue to foster your investigative and logical thought processes as you work to solve crimes. This advanced course in forensic science offers a deep dive into the critical aspects of evidence testing and criminal psychology. Designed for students with a strong foundation in science and an interest in criminal investigations, this course focuses on the analysis and interpretation of physical and biological trace evidence, such as hair, fibers, blood, toxins, and DNA, as well as the psychological factors that influence criminal behavior.  Students will discover how entomological and anthropological evidence from a post-mortem examination can help solve a crime. This laboratory-based course will allow students to use logic and scientific inquiry skills to interpret evidence, analyze criminal psychology, and examine the legal implications of crimes.
