Have you ever wondered what goes into planning a major sporting event like the ones on TV? Are you curious how fans become fanatics? Do you think about how ticket sales impact the ability of your favorite team to trade for the league MVP? More Than Just a Game is the class for you! Sports and foundational business principles are very intertwined in this industry. In this class, you will delve into the relationships that sports media and business have in our society. Learn how sports impact community pride, express fashion trends through uniform designs, dovetail with entertainment and pop culture, and gender equity and social change. Topics may include an exploration of career options in sports, consumers in sports, ticket and sponsorship sales concepts, broadcasting and social media, event planning, uniform designs, community relations and communications.

All Badger Summer Scholars students should plan to bring a laptop or tablet to use for course activities and assignments.

Tuition deadlines

The first half of tuition is due by May 15, 2025. The second half of tuition is due by June 1, 2025.
