Program
Summary
Sports and popular culture are very intertwined in our world. Delve into the relationships that sports media has with social, cultural and political structures. Learn how sports media impacts activism and social change. Topics may include ethics, the role of a celebrity figures as role models, and gender equity.
Student profile
All Badger Summer Scholars students should plan to bring a laptop or tablet to use for course activities and assignments.
Course Instructor
Adam Ahearn is the Associate Director of Marketing and Promotions with the UW Athletics Marketing team. He works with the Wisconsin football and women's basketball programs and primarily works with marketing and brand management, advertising, ticket sales strategies, sponsorship activation, video board and game production, social media campaigns, fan engagement strategies, and special event planning.
